(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Heartland Health has introduced a new brand in St. Joseph.

It's called Mosaic Life Care.

Mosaic's first location, a plastic surgery center, is the flagship for change in St. Joseph.

Business leaders from around St. Joseph gathered to welcome Mosaic Life Care Plastic Surgery and Dermatology Center Thursday.

"Now we have dermatological evaluations for skin cancers, we have hand surgery, we have the elective Hollywood cosmetic surgery," says Dr. Warren Hagan, of Mosaic Life Care.

With the building, comes unique services. Along with a spa-like atmosphere, the staff also shows off new technology offered to clients.

"We can take images of a patient and say 'What is it you're trying to improve? Do you want to thin this out and liposuction this away?'" says Hagan as he demonstrates an IPad app.

However, it's more than just new opportunities for plastic surgery. Mosaic's plan for life care is the biggest change. It's about focusing on person as a whole, rather than just healing a sickness or condition.

"Today's consumers are changing. They want a different sort of relationship with a healthcare provider, and we're attempting to reinvent what we do to meet the needs of consumers," says Tama Wagner, Chief Brand Officer of Heartland Health.

Heartland Health is the one bringing Mosaic Life Care to the community.

"When we opened clinics in the north land, we couldn't call them Heartland Health because of the trademark for that name, and so our goal was to operate under one name," says Wagner.

Over time, Mosaic Life Care will replace the Heartland name in St. Joseph.

In the meantime, the plastic surgery center under the new brand will begin the life care model.

For example, for breast cancer patients who get mastectomies, it wants to followup, giving them additional resources to live a full life.

"Unfortunately, only 17% of those women would choose to undergo reconstruction, and the reason is perhaps because they're unaware that is a covered benefit with insurance," says Hagan.

For Mosaic, a new name means new opportunities to care for patients.

Mosaic Life Care is also a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network.
