Scott was born July 31, 1959 to Anna and Leon Henderson in St. Joseph, Missouri.
A graduate of Benton High School, Scott spent the next 13 years in the U.S. Navy. His service took him all over the world with duty stations all the way from the Indian Ocean to Italy. He loved regaling us with stories about his Navy days. After returning home, Scott worked in the healthcare system, mostly caring for the elderly; he enjoyed them so much he often referred to them as his "kids". He was described by his beloved nephews as "Uncle Scott is the best babysitter ever", cake for breakfast might have had an influence. It had also been said that Scott "Never met a stranger".
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Leon S. Henderson; and grandparents, Leon "Rusty" and Deva Henderson and Sam and Dorothy Wolfe.
Survivors: his mother, Anna Henderson; sisters, Ogretta (Charles) Miller, Springhill, Florida and Kim (Kip) Hornsby, St. Joseph; one daughter, Bobbie Jene Henderson, California; beloved nephews, Alex and Andrew Miller, and Zach and Nick Taul; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Services: The family will be hosting a celebration of Scott's life on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at First Lutheran Church. Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorials to be made to Scott Henderson Memorial Account at Nodaway Valley Bank for final arrangements, First Lutheran Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.
