Stephen was born August 22, 1992 in Saint Joseph, Missouri to Ernest and Shelly (Decker) Lance. He graduated from Ruth Houston Learning Center and obtained a welding degree certification from Hillyard Technical School.
Stephen was a welder for Carter's Welding. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend. Stephen enjoyed playing pool, bowling, golf and frisbee golf. He also loved hanging out with his friends and sister, as well as helping anyone and everyone that he could.
Stephen was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Gary Decker, Sr.; paternal grandfather, Ernest Lance, Sr.; uncle, Gary Decker, Jr.; maternal great-grandmother, Virginia Steidel; and
paternal great-grandfather, Conrad Davison.
Survivors include his parents, Ernest and Shelly Lance, of the home; sister, Brittany Lance; maternal grandmother, Marilyn Decker; paternal grandparents, Kathy Lance and Ken Fisher; paternal great-grandmother, Grace Davison; all of Savannah; maternal great-grandfather, Carl Steidel, Rockwood Beach, Missouri; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Services 1 pm, Friday at First Baptist Church in Savannah. Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 pm, Thursday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel. Mr. Lance will then be removed from our Chapel to the First Baptist Church, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday evening. Interment Savannah Cemetery. There will be a luncheon following the services at Savage Lanes Bowling Alley in Savannah.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HNB Bank in Savannah to help defray funeral expenses.
