Pearl was born March 30, 1930 in Kansas City, Missouri to John W. and Madeline Thompson.
She married Robert Lee Lear on July 1, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Pearl was a member of Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church and especially loved being part of, "The Go-Go Girls", her Sunday School Class. As debilitating a disease as Rheumatoid Arthritis can be, she stayed strong and kept her sweet spirit until the very end.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert and sister, Georgie.
She is survived by her sisters, Margie Garner, Joni Ruderman and Lucy Boegner, and an honorary sister, Norma Cobb, three daughters, Gloria (Bob) Wade, Nancy Lear and Brenda (Craig) Moore, her three grandchildren, Joseph, Cameron and Joanne Moore, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pearl and her husband moved to St. Joseph in 1976 from Kansas City. She was an active volunteer with the Heartland Gift Shop and Pregnancy Resource Center.
For someone as petite as Pearl, it is hard to imagine but it is true that going out to eat with family and friends was one of her favorite things to do. But above all, Pearl loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Memorial service 11:00 AM Monday, January 21, 2013 at Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church.
The family will receive visitors at a reception to follow at the church.
Mrs. Lear has been cremated under the direction of Heaton Bowman Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.
The family suggests memorial contributions to JDRF or the Arthritis Foundation.
