Joyce E. Brooks, 84, St. Joseph, Missouri died Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
She was born August 17, 1928 to Orval and Bertha (Raines) Duke in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Joyce married Raymond S. Brooks on July 3, 1948. He preceded her in death on February 13, 1987.
She was a member of Green Valley Baptist Church.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and two brothers, Rev. H, Dean Duke, Macon Georgia, and Robert M. Duke, El Paso, Texas.
Survivors: sons, Steven R. Brooks (Sandy), St. Joseph, Missouri, Randall Brooks (Susan), Norwood, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jennifer Beaver (Tim), Mark Brooks (Jamie), Jeff Brooks (Megan); and great-grandchildren, Makayla and Makenzie.
Services: 1:00 P.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Ashland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 5:00 P.M. Thursday. The family suggests memorial gifts to Green Valley Baptist Church, 3110 Cook Rd, St. Joseph, MO 64506, or of the donor's choice.
