Mary Ella Zacklene, 66, of Savannah, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Mary was born on March 3, 1946 in St. Joseph to Paul W. and Margaret Frances (Hamlet) Gero. She married David Zacklene, Sr. on June 12, 1970 in St. Joseph. He preceded her in death, October, 23, 2009.
She was a member of St. Mary Church and also attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Savannah, and helped at St. Mary Open Door Food Kitchen and Pantry.
Mary was also preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving family includes son, David Zacklene, Jr., (Linda Rose), of the home, granddaughters, Sara and Jamy, siblings, Paula Gero, of Flint, Michigan; Susan Gero, St. Louis, Missouri; Richard Gero, Fayetteville, North Carolina; Joan Hoffman, Kansas City, Missouri; Judith John, Springfield, Missouri; Bill Gero, St. Joseph; Bernadette Gero, of Kansas City, Missouri; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
Mass of Memorialization 11:00 AM Saturday, January 19, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church.
Inurnment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Rosary will be recited at 10:30 AM Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Zacklene has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. There will be a register book available to sign at our chapel.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Food Pantry at St. Mary Church or the Open Door Food Kitchen.
