Ronald Paul Osmun, 70, Holton, KS

He was born February 5, 1942 in Allegan, Michigan, the son of Allen Paul and Dorothy Wilson Osmun. After they divorced, Dorothy moved her family to Kansas in 1951. She later married John Keyes.
Ron worked for the City of Holton in several different departments. He also worked for Scheid Construction and Haug Construction. He retired from the City in 2005. He loved his family, running his farm equipment, and helping his neighbors and friends, always ready to give a helping hand when he could.
He married Ruth Ann McLaughlin on December 18, 1962 in Holton. They were married 50 years on Ruth Ann's birthday last December. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include one son, Randy Osmun and wife Stephanie, Holton; two daughters, Lisa Osmun, Kansas City, KS, and Lori Jackson, Holton; a half-sister, Babbs Schmidt and husband John, Marshall, Michigan; five grandchildren, Megan Pape, Kansas City, KS, Stephanie Detimore, Kansas City, KS, Shawn and Jason Jackson, Mayetta, and Cody Osmun, of Holton, currently serving in the U.S. Army; and six great grandchildren, Zoie, Mya, Leah and R.J., and Dayton and Ryder Smith, all of Kansas City, KS.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 17th at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in the Holton Cemetery. Ron will lie in state at the funeral home where family and friends will meet from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
