Lenora "Curly" Bailey, 94, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Garden Valley Manor & Rehabilitation Center in Kansas City, MO.
A visitation will be held 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City, MO; followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service. Interment will be in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Weston, MO.
The family suggests contributions be given to: American Cancer Society, or Shriner's Children's Hospitals in c/o Abdallah Shrine Temple--5300 Metcalf--Overland Park, KS 66202
Lenora was born September 11, 1918 in Weston to William Edward and Mary Jane (Collins) Roberts. Over the years, she lived in Weston, Kansas City, KS, and Overland Park, KS. Lenora married Jack E. Bailey on December 7, 1942 in Kansas City, KS. She worked as a casualty underwriter for U.S.F. & G. in Kansas City, MO. Lenora was a member of the Leawood Baptist Church of Leawood, KS. She was a member of Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile.
Lenora was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; 2 brothers Mitch "Buddy" Robert, and William Edward "Jr." Roberts; and 2 sisters Elizabeth Suttles, and Geraldiine Skinner. She is survived by: her nieces Betty Barnes (George) of K.C., KS, Kathy Roberts of Weston; nephews Mike Roberts of Weston, and Pat Roberts (Allison) of Weston; great niece Mary Donnelli (Chris) of Platte City, MO; and numeraous other great and great, great nieces and nephews.
