Mildred (Blackford) Spangler Wilson Elifrits, 92, St. Joseph, MO

Mildred was born on December 27, 1920 in Maryville, Missouri to Lloyd and Helen (Weddle) Blackford; moving to St. Joseph in 1956.
She was one of the pioneers of Woman's Long Haul Semi-Trailer Drivers, driving solo in trucks for seventeen years.
She then was manager treasurer of "Pony Express Credit Union" at Swift and Company for thirteen and a half years; then worked as bookkeeper for "Motors Finance" and "R&Z" leasing for ten years.
She married Milford "Newt" Spangler in 1938. They later divorced. She married Harvey Wilson in 1956; he preceded her in death in 1983. She married Raleigh Fay Elifrits in 1984; he preceded her in death in 2005.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Bill, Paul and Lloyd, Jr., one sister, Grace, and three nephews.
She is survived by her five nephews, Richard Blackford, Graham, Missouri; Billy Gene, Francis Mike and Jim; five nieces, Joyce Morris, of St. Joseph; Sharon, Jackie, Ginger and Sharon.
Services 10:30 AM Saturday, January 13, 2013 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment Braddyville Cemetery, Braddyville, Iowa.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
