James Franklin Kneale, 94, St. Joseph, MO

James was born on May 17, 1918, in Fillmore, Missouri, to James Mathew and Vernie May (Praiswater) Kneale. He graduated from Fillmore High School in 1936. He married Vivian Irene Lance on July 14, 1940 at Stewartsville, MO. He worked for Andrew County, farmed and drove a school bus at Bolckow, Missouri, until they moved to St. Joseph in 1952. He worked for the St. Joseph News-Press for over 30 years before retiring. After retiring from the newspaper, he worked part-time at Sunflower Village.
James was a member of Maxwell Heights Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder. He was a member of Bolckow School Board while they resided there. He was a longtime member of the St. Joseph News-Press 25-Year Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Otha Lee and his wife, Vivian on March 14, 1990.
Survivors include his son, Michael (Jane) Kneale, St. Joseph, MO; daughter, Cheryl (Larry) Manville, Dearborn, MO; grandchildren, Lisa (Ron) Olson, Kevin (Jackie) Kneale, Amy (Joe) Conant, Scott (Mary Ann) Kneale, Mark (Kathy) Manville, Steven (Tamara) Manville, Gary (Angela) Manville, Natalie (Steve) Mummert, Jennifer Schulze and Charles (Telena) Manville; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Hannah and Jason Olson, Emilee, Paige, Kaylee and Amber Kneale, Jovonna (Mike) Mollus, Olivia and Sophia Conant, Ryan Kneale, Colton and Tyler Hoffman, Cody, Erin, Janell, Alexandra, Abigail, Hailey, Eric, Dalton, Logan and Darren Manville, Christopher, Thomas and Matthew Mummert; and great-great-grandchildren, Lilly and Amara Mollus and Karma Kneale.
Services 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon Tuesday at the Chapel, where family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Maxwell Heights Presbyterian Church or Hands of Hope Hospice.
