Keith was born on December 8, 1927 in Maryville, Missouri to Jimmie E. and Myrtle Leah (Messick) Thrasher. He graduated from Bolckow High School and received his Bachelor's Degree from Missouri University.
He married Wanda Praiswater on July 31, 1949 Fillmore Baptist Church in Fillmore, Missouri. She survives of the home.
Keith was a member of the Andrew County Mutual Insurance Board, Shady Lawn Nursing Home Board, and the R-4 and Fillmore School Boards. He retired from farming after forty-two years, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Savannah, Missouri where he served as a Deacon.
Keith had many hobbies and especially enjoyed traveling, golfing and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Steven Thrasher.
Additional surviving family includes daughter, Pam (Bill) Hurley, granddaughter, Missy (Ryan) McClurg, both of St. Joseph; great-grandchildren, Rylan and Maggie McClurg, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a very special thanks to Keith's caregiver, Joanie Wright, for her exceptional care.
Services 10:00 AM Monday, January 7, 2013 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph, Missouri. Interment Fillmore Cemetery, Fillmore, Missouri.
Visitation will begin after 12:00 Noon Sunday at our chapel, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday evening.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Hands of Hope Hospice.
