Juanita was born on June 16, 1921 in St. Joseph to Clifford and Carrie (Armstrong) Akins.
She married George William Lancey on March 25, 1939 in Platte City, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1967.
Juanita was a previous member of Savannah Avenue Baptist Church and loved gardening.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Clarence, sisters, Marie, Hattie, Mildred, Emma and Blanche.
Surviving family includes son, Larry (Linda) Lancey, daughter, Marilyn (Wayne) Taylor, all of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Robert Taylor, Kim Brady, Jennifer (John) Perkins and Jeremy Lancey, great-grandchildren, Ashley, Megan, Joey, Anna, Zachary and Rachel; four great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services 11:00 AM Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.
Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
