(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A new shopping experience is ready for a reveal in St. Joseph.

Second Harvest Community Food Bank's Fresh Start community market will host a ribbon cutting on Monday, Jan. 7. The store will open to the community on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

The store will operate as a non-profit grocery store and food pantry.

Shoppers can obtain a fresh-picks membership card, if they meet income guidelines. That allows them to shop at the store once a week. Additionally, Fresh Start will accept cash, debit cards and eventually SNAP cards on the other days.

Fresh Start, located at 9th and Douglas Streets, will be open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
