Larry D. Thompson, 73, Kansas City, Missouri, formerly of St. Joseph, Missouri, died Monday, December 31, 2012.
He was born April 13, 1939 to Everett and Anna Thompson in Topeka, Kansas.
Larry married Marian K. Burns on June 10, 1962. She preceded him in death in March 2005. He married Nancy Ebberts on September 5, 2009. She survives of the home.
He was a microbiologist at Boehringer Ingelheim. Larry was a Deacon at Parkville Presbyterian Church and an Elder at First Presbyterian Church in St. Joseph. He volunteered for the American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, and the local food pantry.
Larry is also survived by his daughters, Karen Thompson Bishop (Bill), Kansas City, Missouri, and Marilyn Thompson (Sam Green), granddaughter Leah Green, Phoenix, Arizona, and a brother, Richard M. Thompson (Mary), Gladstone, Missouri.
Services: 10:00 A.M. Friday, Parkville Presbyterian Church, Parkville, Missouri. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, Missouri. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, Parkville Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to either church or the American Red Cross.
