(LAWRENCE, Ks.) Fresh off a win in their first true road game of the season, the No. 6 Jayhawks made a smooth return to Allen Fieldhouse.

Travis Releford led Kansas with 19 points as they cruised to an 89-57 win over American University on Saturday.

While the the Jayhawks (11-2) took every opportunity to show off their high-flying capabilities, it was their three-point shooting that really wowed. The team connected on 15 of 24 attempts from behind the arc, falling just one short of the school record.

Overall, Kansas shot 63 percent from the floor.

Elijah Johnson and Jeff Withey were the other Jayhawks in double figures, pouring in 12 and 11 points, respectively.

The team is now off until Sunday, Jan. 6th when they wrap up their non-conference slate hosting Temple.
