Donald Lee Sipe, 66, St. Joseph, MO

Donald was born in St. Joseph to Homer and Josephine (Felker) Sipe on August 1, 1946.
He graduated from Lafayette High School in 1964 and was employed as a machine adjuster for Mead for 38 years and then for five years for Sara Lee before retiring. He was a member of the Savannah Avenue Baptist Church. Earlier in his life he played and coached Baseball.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Barbara Jo Wallace, Maternal Grandparents, Anna and Harley Felker and Paternal Grandparents Hazel (Loder) and William Sipe.
He married the love of his life, Carolyn E. Shanks, in St. Joseph on December 17, 1965. They had just celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary.
They were blessed with twin daughters Julie A.(George)Boudreaux, of Lee's Summit, MO, Joanie L. Wright (Matt Schraufek), of St. Joseph, MO, a son, Matthew L. (Becca) Sipe of Clever, MO. He was most proud of his four Granddaughters, Holli D. and Carli M. Wright of St. Joseph, MO, Lauryn Boudreaux of Lee's Summit, MO and Alaina J. Sipe of Clever, MO. Donald was also survived by his brother, William "Bill" Sipe of St. Joseph, MO, a sister-in-law Carolyn Pearl of St. Joseph, MO, three brother-in-laws, Ronald L. (Marilyn) Shanks and Robert Kiefer both of St. Joseph, MO and Larry D. Shanks of Sacramento, CA. He is also survived by an ex-son-in-law Chris Wright and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, December 27th at 6:00PM at the Heaton-Bowman-Smith and Sidenfaden Chapel where the family will receive friends following the service until 8:30PM.
