Richard Jackson Wilson, 68, of Weston, MO passed away Monday, December 24, 2012, at NorthCare Hospice House of North Kansas City Hospital.
A visitation will be held 6:30 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Vaughn Funeral Home in Weston. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 28, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Weston. The family suggests contributions be given to the West Platte Booster Club, or NorthCare Hospice.
Richard was born May 2, 1944 in St. Joseph, MO to Chester Arthur Wilson, Jr. and Grace Margaret (Harris) Wilson. He was a 1962 graduate of West Platte High School. Richard worked as a local truck driver in the Kansas City area, including Air Freight Central. He married Sonjia Smith Ammon on October 10, 1981 in Weston. Richard was an avid sports fan, and a proud West Platte supporter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Janice Humes. Richard is survived by: his wife Sonjia Wilson; his children Richa (Hans von Gortler), Roland, Jimmie (Jennifer) Wilson, and Susan Ammon; his brother- in- law Kenny Humes; his brother Joey Wilson; 9 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
