Fire Crews Battle Overnight House Fire in St. Joseph

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The St. Joseph Fire Department responded to a house fire at 1110 Church Street late Monday night.
Battalion Chief Paris Jenkins says dispatchers received the call around 10:00 p.m. He said 22 firefighters responded to the Christmas Eve fire.
Fire crews worked to put out the fire for more than three hours.
Battalion Chief Jenkins says they searched the basement and two floors of the house and did not find any occupants.
The fire department said the fire was difficult to contain and spread throughout every floor of the home.
The fire is still under investigation.
