John Eugene Salcedo, 69, of St. Joseph passed away Tuesday December 18, 2012 at his home in St. Joseph where he resided most of his life.
John served in the Army and Air National Guard for thirty one years, retiring as Senior Master Sergeant.
Preceding him in death are his parents Joseph Salcedo and Ruth Jones-Salcedo-Pendleton and brother Jack Salcedo.
Survivors include his wife of forty-seven years, Janet (Prather) Salcedo of the home; two sons, John (Valerie) Salcedo of Maryville, MO and CPT. Jordan Salcedo, of US Army, Ft. Hood, TX; five daughters, Jennifer (Jeff) Wilson, of Bolckow, MO, Julianna (Pat) Walker, of Maryville, MO, Jolene Salcedo, of Kansas City, MO, Jeannie (Kenny) Rainsbarger, of New Market, MO, and Justine (Kyle) Hughes, of Olathe, KS; brother, Don Salcedo; three sisters, Kathy (Dan) Moppin, Patricia (Randy) Wilson and Cindy Pendleton; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Clark-Sampson Funeral Home with Pastor James Porter officiating. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Salcedo will be cremated following services with inurnment held in Leavenworth National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Leukemia Lymphoma Society, Mid America Chapter, 6811 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Building 1, Suite 202, Shawnee Mission, KS 66202.
