Doris A. Waggoner, 87, White Cloud, KS

Doris A. Waggoner, 87, of White Cloud, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, December 18, 2012, at the Hiawatha Community Hospital.
Doris was born July 11, 1925, at White Cloud, the youngest of ten children born to William Roy and Florence McAllister Collins and had lived in White Cloud nearly all of her life. She attended White Cloud schools, later graduating from White Cloud High School. Doris was a homemaker, dedicated and working to raise her family. In later years, she drove a school bus for the Highland School District, and worked at the senior citizen meal site in White Cloud a few years. Doris was a member of the ladies auxiliary to American Legion Post #154, of White Cloud, for over sixty years. She enjoyed squirrel hunting with her husband, enjoyed fishing, and visiting the casino.
She married Henry Eugene "Bean" Waggoner, December 23, 1944 in Hiawatha. He died July 6, 1974. Doris was also preceded in death by her parents; a son Richard; nine brothers and sisters.
Survivors include three sons: Michael Waggoner of White Cloud, Charles (Nancy) Waggoner of Sedalia, MO, John (Mary Ann) Waggoner of rural Falls City, NE; two daughters: Jeanie (Jerry) Idol of St. Joseph, MO, Patricia (Larry) Lentz of White Cloud; a sister Edith Williams of Texas; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
It was Doris's wish to be cremated with no services to be held. A time of fellowship with a meal is planned for 12 noon Saturday, December 22, at the White Cloud American Legion Building.
