(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Deep in side a maternity room at Heartland Regional Medical Center, a little seven pound, six ounce bundle of joy was ready to see the world.

"He was actually supposed to be a Christmas Eve baby but he decided he wanted to come today," said Lacie Hearn.

Hearn and Robert Pleickhardt welcomed the newest addition to their family, baby Jaiden Anthony Pleickhardt.

He is the first baby born in St. Joseph on the unique date of December 12, 2012, or 12-12-12.

"I actually thought it was going to be the 11th, that night," said Hearn. "I ended up going to bed and waking up at five in the morning and he was on his way here."

It is a day that has been celebrated worldwide for the uniqueness of the date. It will be the last three exact calendar numbers that will run together until January 1, 2101.

To baby Jaiden's family, this date is a little more special.

All that is left is to meet his two year-old big brother.

"He's actually pretty excited," said Hearn. "He hasn't gotten to meet him yet but we're hoping to do that tomorrow."
