George Bednar, 78, of Platte City, MO, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at St. Luke's Northland Hospital--Barry Road Campus.
George was born May 17, 1934 in Powhatan Point, OH to Michael and Anna Bednar. He was a 1952 graduate of the Powhatan High School, later serving his country in the U.S. Army, and attended the University of Cincinnati. George married Margaret Rae Hutchens on June 6, 1959 in Evergreen, CO. He also lived in Ypsilanti, MI and Deerfield, IL before moving to Platte City in 1986. George worked for TWA for 35 years, retiring as a reservation supervisor in 1998. He loved flower gardening, interior decorating, and traveling.
George was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife Margaret; his brothers John and Joe; 2 sisters Mary and Fran; and 2 infant siblings. He is survived by: Ellie Baranich of the home; his son Greg Bednar of El Segundo, CA; and 2 sisters Olga Marie Lindquist of Pittsburgh, and Ann McGee of Powhatan Point.
