The St. Joseph restaurant hosted a fundraiser for the AFL-CIO's Adopt-A-Family Christmas Program Wednesday night. Ten percent of purchases went help buy Christmas gifts for kids.
Representatives from the AFL-CIO were also there talking to customers about the program.
More than 700 families have applied for assistance for the holidays, and that number is growing. Around 250 families have been adopted so far.
The AFL-CIO wants to give everyone a merry Christmas, including families in need.
"So they can keep above water and still pay their bills and go on everyday, and it's a one day a year where everybody can have a happy day," says Penny Adams, Executive Director of the AFL-CIO.
The AFL-CIO is still looking for sponsors. Get in touch with the agency if you'd like to adopt a family, donate toys, time, or money.
