He was born November 9, 1933 to Charles and Alice Bell (Torson) Anderson in Horton, Kansas.
Edward married Arlene Norvell on October 8, 1952. She survives of the home.
He spent twenty-eight years in the Army Reserves and National Guard where he made lifelong friends.
Mr. Anderson was a truck driver for Imperial Oil Company for nineteen years, Saint Joseph Petroleum for sixteen years and was a devoted employee wherever he worked.
He was a member of Woodson Chapel Christian Church, American Legion Post # 11, Eagles Lodge #49, and the Army National Guard 20 Year Club.
Edward was dearly loved by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a friend to all who met him, always had a smile and a sweet word for the ladies, and a joke for all of the guys. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast who enjoyed long trips.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors: wife; son, Edward Anderson, Jr. (Josie), Forest City, Missouri; daughter, Cynthia Spalding (Michael), St. Joseph, Missouri; two grandchildren; three step grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and four step-great grandchildren.
Services: 3:00 P.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment Mount Auburn Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Sunday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 1:00 P.M. Sunday. The family suggests memorial gifts to the Calvin Center or Hands of Hope Hospice.
