He was born in south Kansas City, Missouri on November 29, 1931, one of ten children of Joel and Alice Johnson.
Ken served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1954 with the 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, where he rose to the rank of Sgt. First Class. He bravely participated in combat with HQ Company during three campaigns of the Korean War, where he earned numerous awards including the Bronze Star for Meritorious Achievement.
He enjoyed a life involving horses and cattle. He operated a horse boarding business south of Lee's Summit, Missouri, until the late 1980's when he decided to relocate to northwest Missouri where he acquired more land to accommodate his growing cattle herd. The Guilford and Whitesville area has completed all his desires in life.
Ken was preceded in death by three brothers, Bud, Perry and Jerry; and sister, Lois.
Survivors: first and third wife, Nola; second wife, Mary; sons, Steve, Mike, Matthew, and Mark; step-daughter, Karen; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; three brothers, Jim, Norman, and Bob "Warpaint"; and two sisters, Jacqueline and Alice.
Mr. Johnson has been cremated under the direction of Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
