JoEllen was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend who loved her family fiercely. She was born June 8, 1972 in Honolulu, HI, daughter of Mayme and Billy Abbott, She graduated from Benton high school class of 1990, and was a member of the National Honor Society. She was a student of History, having graduated from Missouri Western State University with a History Degree and a lover of Literature who was able to share these passions with a new generation of children through her work as a substitute teacher, a job she loved.
JoEllen was a movie connoisseur, dearly loving movies. Always thinking of others, JoEllen volunteered for the March of Dimes, St. Joseph Youth Alliance and Benton High School, among others. Of all these though her greatest triumph was that of MOM to three amazing children. She felt deeply, worked hard, loved fearlessly and will be remembered as a toucher of hearts and lives.
JoEllen leaves behind a daughter Kyleigh Weston and two sons Kalyb and Tristyn Weston, parents, Bill and Mayme Abbott, brother Jason and wife Christina Abbott of Tennessee, nephew Carter, niece Jaylin Abbott, and a nephew on the way, maternal grandmother Margaret Jolly, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends and her beloved cat James Madison.
JoEllen was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Millard Jolly, paternal grandfather, Ernie Abbott, paternal grandparents, John & Ann Matthews and beloved aunt, Vivian Hill. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm, on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Rupp Funeral Home, with Dr. Gary Mathes officiating, The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Mrs. Abbott will be cremated under the direction of the Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested in lieu of flowers to the JoEllen Abbott memorial fund in care of the Rupp Funeral Home.
