June was born February 20, 1934 in Savannah to Roy and Bertha Beulah Bell (Garner) Steeby. She graduated from Savannah High School in 1951.
June was married to Eldon "Ed" Steinman on July 23, 1956. They were wed for 51 years when he preceded her in death on February 8, 2008.
June was a press operator for Whitaker Cable for over 20 years. She worked at the U. S. Census Bureau, and was a surveyor for the Missouri Department of Conservation.
June was a very active member of Ora Rebekah Lodge, Missouri Quilters Guild and United Methodist Church of Savannah. She enjoyed quilting and playing cards.
June was also preceded in death by her parents; two great-grandsons, Joshua Edward Tucker, Trinity Ward Tucker; nine siblings, Iola Lewis, Octavia Ricker, Raymond Steeby, Dillen Steeby, Louise LaCroix, Esther Wilson, Herbert Hoover Steeby, Willard "Bill" Steeby and Faye Lawrie.
Survivors include daughters, Bertha "B.J." Tucker and her husband, John of Valley Center, Kansas, Brenda Moppin and her husband, Bill of Savannah, Linda Sourk of Haven, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Jason Tucker and wife, Christina, Jeremy Tucker and wife, Jenny, Melinda Hill and husband, Tony, Matthew Moppin, Megan Rall and husband, Clayton, Meredith and Robby Sourk; four great-granddaughters, Amber, Holly and Grace Tucker, Brandon Scarlett Rall; and sole surviving sister, Mary Catherine Bowman
Services 11 am, Monday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel. Visitation will begin after 9am, Sunday, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, Sunday evening. Interment Savannah Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Ora Rebekah Lodge or United Methodist Church.
