He was born January 1, 1938 in Canadian, TX, son of Della and Frank Owens. He married Patricia Wright on July 30, 1976 and she survives of the home. He served in the United States Navy. He worked for the Union Local 101 as a heavy equipment operator for 40 years. He enjoyed building rock walls and working, he also enjoyed fishing, watching westerns, and the history channel.
Donald was preceded in death by his father, Frank Owens, mother, Della Feichter, step father, Charles Feichter. Survivors include wife Patricia Owens of the home, 2 sons - Charlie Owens of St. Joseph, MO, Tracy Owens of Birmingham, AL; a daughter - Joy Hill of Harper, TX; 3 grandchildren - Jesseca, Cecily, and Kelci; a sister - Dollie Bahner of Hot Springs, AR; and a brother in law - William Lough of St. Joseph, MO, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm, on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Rupp Funeral Home, with Rev. Albert Shirley officiating, The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Inurnment will be at the Odd Fellows Public Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are requested in lieu of flowers to the AFL-CIO adopt a family Christmas program.
