(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A fire destroyed a St. Joseph mobile home overnight. It happened at Countryside Estates off Pear Street around midnight, Tuesday morning.

No one was home at the time, so there were no injuries. But, the home was destroyed.

The person who lived there believes the fire was intentionally set and he thinks he knows who's responsible.

The fire inspector believes the fire started in the living room and he is calling it incendiary.

"Incendiary just means it's set, arson is a crime and I can't decide, that's for a prosecutor to decide. You can burn some things, intentionally set a fire and it still not be arson," said Rob Blizzard, St. Joseph Fire Inspector.

A man who lives nearby described what he saw Tuesday morning.

"I looked out the window because I heard somebody by the window, and then I looked across the street because I saw smoke. I woke everybody up in the house and by the time we started knocking on people's doors a blaze started, and it just erupted from there," said Lawrence Sullivan, neighbor.

The house did not have electricity. The fire inspector is working to gather more information to move forward with the investigation.
