(SAINT JOSEPH, Mo.) The Hawks brought a stern swing to the Missouri Western Fieldhouse early Saturday night.

But the Griffons showed enough mettle to weather it and chip away.

Missouri Western erased an eight-point deficit to defeat Rockhurst 60-45 in the final game of the Hillyard Classic.

James Harris led the offensive effort off the bench for the Griffons (2-1), going for 18 points. Cedric Clinkscales went 4-for-4 from the floor.

The Griffons return to the court Friday when they play Park University.
