Cleveland T. Hargis, 75, of Camden Point, MO passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012, at the Kansas City Hospice House, in North Kansas City, MO.
A visitation will be 6:00 - 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 19 at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City, MO; followed by a 7:00 p.m. memorial service at the funeral home. A private family inurnment will take place in the Camden Point Cemetery, at a later date. The family suggests contributions be given to the Camden Point Fire Protection District.
Cleve was born December 7, 1936 in Higbee, MO to Lowell Milton and Hilda Mae (Comstock) Hargis. Throughout his life, he lived in the St. Louis, MO and Hawthorn, CA areas, until moving to Camden Point in 1970. Cleve married Sara Lou Short on September 7, 1957 in Ironton, MO. He worked as a customer service supervisor for Delta Airlines. Cleve served as president of the Camden Point Fire District, enjoyed camping, hunting, and NASCAR. He also enjoyed traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Cleve is survived by: his wife Sara, of the home; his son Dave Hargis (Gloria) of Camden Point; his daughter Sonia Overton (Tim) of Dearborn, MO; his brother Aubrey Hargis (Aileen) of Higbee, MO; 4 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
