Carlos Davis, 86, St. Joseph, MO

Carlos was born on June 21, 1926 to A.D. and Lily (Holland) Davis and raised in Erick, Oklahoma.
He joined the U.S. Army and served during World War II as a scout, liberating the Philippines, was awarded a Bronze star, an American Theater Ribbon and participated in the battles of the Philippines Liberation and Luzon Campaign.
After returning home, he graduated from Oklahoma State University. Carlos married Myrtle "Marie" Karr of Oregon, Missouri on October 10, 1946. She precedes him in death.
He is also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Kenneth and Art Davis, and four sisters, Levella, Mary Lee, Vaneva, and Kathleen.
Surviving family includes son, Glenn Davis, Liberty, Missouri; grandsons, Jordan and Jacob Davis, and waiting for his first great-grandchild in January; brother, Bobby (Lily) Davis, Oklahoma; sister, Naomi (Sonny) Dillard, Texas; and sister-in-law Avonell, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph, Missouri.
Interment Highland Cemetery, Oregon, Missouri.
Visitation will begin after 11:00 AM Tuesday, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday evening.
