Mildred U. LaBouff, 86, formerly of St. Joseph, Missouri, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at a health care facility in Maryville, Missouri.
She was born January 28, 1926 to Orlando Horner and Dora Johanna (Rother) Updike in Rockport, Missouri. On May 22, 1949 Mildred married Louis Adrian LaBouff, who preceded her in death on August 16, 1997.
Mildred graduated from Graham High School in 1943; attended Platt Secretarial School in 1943 for one year and in 1972 attended Kansas City Junior College. She worked at Mechanics Bank as the president's secretary from 1945 to 1953; and the Kansas City School District as secretary to the Board of Directors from 1971 to 1992.
Mrs. LaBouff was a member of Wyatt Park Christian Church; Christian Women's Fellowship of Wyatt Park Christian Church; and the Kansas City Association of School Retirees.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Jack Updike.
Survivors: her son, Gary LaBouff (Kathryn), Tenafly, New Jersey; grandchildren, Eric, Meredith, and Megan LaBouff; and sisters, Shirley Hays and Carol Calfee.
Services: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 5:00 P.M. Monday. The family suggests memorial gifts to Wyatt Park Christian Church.
