She was born February 22, 1917, in Quitman, Missouri; the daughter of the late Ernest Fleet and Blanche Marion Job Shelton.
Georgia was a graduate of Quitman High School and earned her teaching certificate from Northwest Missouri State Teacher's College, Maryville. She taught elementary education in several one room country schools.
Georgia was united in marriage to C. Edwin Headrick on June 4, 1939 in Quitman. They moved to California in the 1950's and had resided in Escandito, California before returning to Maryville.
Georgia attended the Wilcox Methodist Church, was a member of the Rosanna Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #269, and the Shell Grove Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband (1999), three brothers Truman, Bill, and Edward Shelton.
Survivors include: her twin sister, Martha Dawson, Burlington Jct., MO; four sister-in-laws Beverly Shelton, Independence, MO, Vera Williams and Irene Renshaw, both of Maryville, Betty Headrick, St. Joseph, Missouri; brother-in-law Jim Headrick, Overland Park, Kansas; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Headrick's body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held 11 AM, Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Nodaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Maryville.
Memorials may be given to the Nodaway County Senior Center or SSM Hospice.
