Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 21, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at Slater Funeral Home Trenton, MO with Pastor Edward Bell officiating. Burial will be at Edinburg I.O.O.F. Cemetery of Edinburg, MO
Memorials to: American Cancer Society or St. Lukes Hospice these may be left at the funeral home.
There is no schedule family visitation.
Mrs. Virginia M. Griffin, was born April 23, 1920 in Hickory, Mo. the daughter of Joseph Elmer and Mabel Frances French Parkey. She attended Gee Schools, Hickory, MO. She was employed as manager of Kress Store and retired from J.C. Penny's both of Trenton, Missouri. .
She was a member of the Edinburg Baptist Church, Joseph L. Norton Post NO. 919 V.F.W. Auxiliary and long time member the Rebekah Lodge.
She was married to Cecil Terhune who preceded her in death
Then on June 6, 1948 she was married to Clyde W. Griffin at Edinburg, Missouri. He preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1996.
She is survived by one sister Rose Lee Allnutt of Trenton, MO. Three Nephews Terry Allnutt and wife Sue of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Tim Allnutt and wife Lee Ann of Trenton, MO, and Leslie Bratton of Independence, MO. One niece Jeri Davis of Roseville, Calif. Great Nieces and Nephews Samatha Jo Plaisance , Mathew Allnutt, Caitlin Allnutt, Ryan Allnutt, and Randy Johnson. One Sister-In-Law Jane Parkey of Mesa, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her mother Mabel Griffin, her father Joseph Parkey, Seven sisters Ela Fern McAllister, Irene Hunt, Hazel Bratton, Leona Dockery, Betty Lou Porter, Beulah Fay Winne, Mary Caroline Parkey, one brother Elmer Parkey, and one niece Nancy Carol Davis.
