(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Missouri Western head football coach Jerry Partridge confirmed the bad news Griffon fans were expecting early this week.

Starting linebacker Yomi Alli is out for the season with a torn PCL, LCL and cartilage.

Alli went down with the knee injury in the first half of Saturday's football game against the University of Nebraska-Kearney.

Partridge says the Griffons are losing a player full of potential.

"Yomi's a great football player," Partridge said. "That's a MIAA Defensive Player of the Year kind of football player eventually in his career."

Alli's currently leading the team in tackles through the first three weeks of the season with 23, but right behind him with 17 is Jordan Nicholas, a linebacker that will get some more opportunities with Alli out.

Along with Nicholas, Wallace Carter will also get some looks at mike linebacker.
