Denise "Dee" Kerns 58, of Saint Joseph, Missouri passed away Friday September 14, 2012 at her home.
She was born May 26, 1954 in Cameron, Missouri. She graduated from Lafayette High School. She worked at Lamp Lighter as a bartender and Acme Music as a secretary. She enjoyed shopping with her sisters and mother, playing darts and pool, but most especially spending time with her family. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Denise was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Kerns, father, Gerald Hulett, and a sister, Deborah Hulett. She is survived by; her parents, Carol and Norman Burton of St. Joseph, 3 daughters - Terra Langley and Fianc Tony Schermerhorn, Kelly White and husband Shane, Jonetta Grieme and fianc Jason Generaux all of St. Joseph, MO; 10 grandchildren - Cody Langley, Tayler Sollars, Kelynn Langley, Jaclynn Grieme, Francis Rader, Austin Schermerhorn, Chad Rader, Kyle Modlin, Tyler Schermerhorn, and Grace Valentine; Five Great grandchildren, 2 brothers - Mark Hulett, and Jack Burton; 2 sisters - Darlene Grieme, and Melody Hutson; several - nieces & nephews; and her former husband Louis Grieme.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Rupp Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 - 2PM on Thursday at the funeral home. She will be cremated under the direction of the Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Denise Kerns Memorial fund in care of the Rupp Funeral Home.
