He was born August 1, 1927 to Lawrence L. and Evelyn G. (Scheer) Sabbert in Robinson, Kansas.
Marvin married Bertha M. Legler on November 30, 1947, who preceded him in death on March 9, 2012.
He was a farmer and cattleman for many years and was Vice President/General Manager at White Cloud Grain Company for over 25 years. Marvin was also a Real Estate Agent for ReMax Realty for ten years.
Mr. Sabbert was a member of Hiawatha Lodge #35, A.F. & A.M.; Moila Shrine, and was a past Potentate; Moila Drum and Bugle Corp, of which he was past president; Royal Order of Jesters, Court #98; Hiawatha Elks Lodge #1741, B.P.O.E.; and White Cloud School Board and Highland Unified USD #425 School Board.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister, Eva Loyd.
Survivors: Richard D. Sabbert (Sheri), St. Charles, Missouri; Judith K. Sabbert, St. Joseph; Bernard K. Sabbert (Angela), St. Joseph; and Douglas S. Sabbert, Olathe, Kansas; grandchildren Amy, Jenifer, Ryan, Joshua Sabbert; Ryan (Kristin), Jordan, and Hayden Muck; Tara and Chase Sabbert; Caitlyn and Conner Sabbert; and great-grandchild, Evan Sabbert, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services 10:00 A.M. Friday, Ashland United Methodist Church. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family suggests memorial gifts to Hands of Hope Hospice; Moila Shriners Hospital - Burn & Crippled Unit; or Heartland Foundation.
