Thelma Tellefson, 92, Robinson, KS

Thelma Tellefson, 92, of Robinson, KS died Friday evening, August 31, 2012 at Hiawatha Community Hospital after being admitted earlier in the week.
She was born October 7, 1919 in Omaha, NE, the daughter of A.J. "Julius" and Sigrid Andresen. She grew up on the family truck-farm (fruits and vegetables), graduated from Benson High School, and attended Dana College, receiving a teaching certificate. She taught school in Omaha for a few years before taking the train out to California with a college friend and teaching in Artesia, CA. for a while.
On August 30, 1946, she married Theodore "Ted" Tellefson and moved to the Robinson, KS community, where she raised a family and helped with the family farming operation. She was an active member of several organizations and was an involved parent in organizations her children belonged to.
Thelma and Ted raised 3 children, all of whom survive her. John Raymond (Ann) Tellefson of Salina, KS, Carol Tellefson of Robinson, KS, and Susan Tellefson of Macomb, IL. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Kristina Tellefson of Salina, KS, a sister, Helen Freund of Sun City, AZ, three sisters-in-law, Esther Fredrikson of Fargo, ND, Lillian Ward of Corpus Christi, TX, and Mary Tellefson of Easton, KS, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Andrew J. "Jule" "Andy" Andresen.
Funeral services are planned for 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2012 at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha, KS, with interment to follow at the Upper Wolf Lutheran Church Cemetery southeast of Robinson. Pastor Annette Minderman will officiate.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 until 7 Thursday evening. The family will meet with friends prior to the service from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Upper Wolf Lutheran Church, the Town and County Ambulance Service, the Brown County Humane Society, or the charity of your choice. Memorials may be sent in care of the funeral home, 124 S 7th St., Hiawatha 66434.
