Gale was born on June 18, 1926 in Woodbine, Iowa to John Everett and Alice (VanFleet) Garges.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Arnold and Samford and twin brother, Dale; 3 sisters, Verna McCann and Opal Garges and Ruth Church; great-granddaughter, Kamrie Crabb.
On December 31, 1943, Gale married Ruth Brown in Spokane, Missouri.
Gale and Ruth moved to Cameron in 1973 and they owned and operated several nursing homes in the surrounding area.
He was very active in the Cameron Lion's Club, serving as past president and past District Governor and a Melvin Jones Fellow.
Survivors: Wife, Ruth Garges, Cameron; son, Mark (Linda) Garges, Cameron; daughter, Nancy (Jeff) Miles, Cameron; 3 grandchildren, Wes Garges, Kimberly Ness and Brianne Crabb; 3 great-grandchildren, Brandon Ness, Chad Ness and Sydnie Crabb.
