A visitation will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City; followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service, at the funeral home. Interment, with military honors, will follow in the Platte City Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be given to the American Lung Association, Disabled American Veterans or The Salvation Army.

He graduated From Jamestown High school and attended Missouri Western in Saint Joseph, MO. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He defended our country during the Korean conflict and Viet Nam war on many Destroyer and Aircraft Carriers. Hugh said that he had traveled the world and the USA is the most beautiful County in this world! After his military service, Hugh Also Worked for KCP&L as a Maintenance Forman and Retired in 1994. Hugh married Marilyn Northern on May 12, 1995 in Liberty, MO.
Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, nine brothers and sisters and a step-son William M. Timm. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Brizendine of the home; his Children, Pamela Lee of California MO., David and Wanda Brizendine Of Olathe KS, Michael Brizendine Kansas City, MO, Randy Brizendine and Joanne of Independence, MO; Julia and Les Needham of Valley Falls, KS, Ten grandchildren, and five great Grandchildren.
