Dwight H. Birkel, 66, St. Joseph, Missouri died Thursday, August 30, 2012 at his home.
He was born March 18, 1946, to Herbert Armin and Lulu Anna (Haeffner) Birkel.
Dwight was a truck driver for 27 years in the agricultural industry.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors: his wife, Patricia Ann (Sayers) Birkel; his daughters, Theresa Aston (Jim) and Victoria Goll (Mike) both of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Regina Alves (AJ), Rachel Aston (Jon Shaw), Andrew Orton (Bonita), and Roger Orton (Maggie); great-grandchildren- Ethan and Keira Alves; and Breanna, Alexis, and Rylie Orton.
In keeping with his wishes Mr. Birkel has been donated to medical science.
