William "Bill" Stonebarger, 81, Highland, KS

He was born May 26, 1931 in White Cloud, KS the son of Ed and Clara Ransdell Stonebarger. He was raised in the Doniphan county area and helped his family dairy and farm. His mother passed away at a young age and he was raised by his father and step-mother, Myrtle. He married Janice L. Collins October 18, 1951 in Hiawatha, KS. She survives of the home. Bill spent most of his working years as a farmer and dairy worker. Bill and Janice raised five children.
The late Charles Ray Stonebarger, Richard Wayne Stonebarger of Iowa, Marilyn Jane (Dean) McVicker of Highland, KS, Tony Curtis Stonebarger of Ford City, MO, William "Les" (Ree) Stonebarger of Auburn, NE. Also is a sister, Dorothy Tracy of Troy, KS , 17 grandkids, and several great grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Jason Wayne Stonebarger, a brother, Carl "Sid" Stonebarger, sisters, Bernice Saunders and Edith Moppin and a step-sister, Thelma Moppin.
Funeral Services are planned for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Highland. Sam Blythe will officiate. Interment will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Robinson. Friends may call the funeral home after 10 a.m. Tuesday where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 p.m. till 8 p.m. that evening.
