Boehringer Expansion Continues, Creating New Jobs in St. Joseph

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A St. Joseph business continues to grow, announcing a $79 million investment Tuesday that will create 115 new jobs over the next three years.

Boehringer-Ingelheim Vetmedica Inc. (BIVI) officially dedicated a new warehouse and administration building.

Gov. Jay Nixon attended the ceremony at the Eastowne Business Park in St. Joseph, touting the company's global and local leadership in the animal health industry.

"Boehringer-Ingelheim Vetmedica Inc. is an anchor of the Animal Health Corridor, and this latest expansion in St. Joseph strengthens our state's standing as a leader in this worldwide industry," Gov. Nixon said.

Boehringer-Ingelheim's is building is a 260,000 square-foot facility located near the corner of Pickett and Riverside.

The building will consolidate warehousing, packaging and labeling under one roof.

Boehringer is also celebrating a ribbon-cutting at the new Vetmedica Administrative Building on Gene Field Road.

The company could be eligible for a strategic economic incentive package from the state if it meets certain job creation and investment criteria.
