A dangerous weekend on St. Joseph city streets leaves two dead and one in critical condition in separate accidents. In a fatal accident around 11 last night, St. Joseph police say 47-year-old Rhonda Adamy of St. Joseph was walking on the north side of Frederick Blvd. when she was struck by a car driven by 18-year-old Alexis McCoy, also from St. Joseph. Police say McCoy was driving west bound on Frederick near the I-29 overpass and did not see Adamy. Adamy was taken by ambulance to Heartland Regional Medical Center where she later died from her injuries. At this time, no citations have been given. A St. Joseph woman is left widowed and in critical condition at Heartland tonight. Shortly after 3 p.m St. Joseph police say 77-year-old James Klesath of St. Joseph ran a red light on Pear St. His car was broadsided by 28-year-old Jeremy Munger, also from St. Joseph, who was traveling south bound on the Belt Highway. Witnesses tell police Munger had a green light. Both james Klesath and his 75-year-old wife Viola Klesath were taken by ambulance to Heartland. James Klesath later died of his injuries. Viola Klesath remains in critical condition. Munger suffered minor injuries but refused treatment. At this time, no citations or charges have been filed.
