A history lesson for some in St. Joseph today...
The city`s Black Archives museum had its monthly lunch and learn.
About 25 people attended a lecture on the history and architectural set-up of african-american slave quarters in counties across Missouri.
Historian Gary Fuenfhausen says many historical slave quarters are in danger of being torn down and are in need of restoration.
"These buidling are still standing today although they are endangered...and we have to preserve that past because its a document about who we are," says Fuenfhasuen.
The presenation intended to raise awarness about slavery within Missouri counties
