Incumbent Circuit Judge Challenges Challenger`s Claims

Buchanan County Judge Patrick Robb wants the community to add six more years to his almost twenty year run. Judge Robb is both the division three judge and 5th Judicial District Presiding Judge. He says his experience puts him above his competition. Presiding Judge Patrick Robb and his wife Carol have two children and three grandchildren living in Buchanan County. Robb says he hasn`t lost touch with the community he`s also lived in for 27 years. Robb said, "I`m certainly a much better judge now than when I started 19 years ago I`ve presided over 400 jury trials and there are only a handful of judges that have that experience." Robb says his experience as a prosecutor for 7 years and a judge for almost twenty make him a qualified candidate. Robb said, "As a judge I represent the communities interest so when I make a decision it`s based on the law and what`s best for the community." He says his opponent Daniel Radke`s criminal defense experience is very different. Robb said, "The philosophy sometimes for criminal defense is to delay to avoid punishment for criminal behavior and I don`t think we want the philosophy of a criminal defense attorney brought to a court docket that presides over major criminal cases." Robb says he disagrees with Radke`s claims that the court moves cases to quickly. "I think to advocate cases are moving too quickly suggests to me someone who is out of touch with the community expects from our courts and what a community expects from a judge." He says he also disagrees with Radke`s claims that the drug court needs to be expanded. Robb said, "My opponent has stated that Andrew County residents aren`t allowed in the Drug Court program but he`s been informed that is not true. It is not at this point in time fiscally responsible because the prosecutor isn`t supportive and there is not a substantial amount of cases to suggest we should set up a separate drug court program in Andrew County." Robb says he stands by his record and involvement in progressive programs. The 5th Judicial District has been awarded the Missouri Supreme Court`s O` Toole award twice for efficiency in processing cases. Robb also points to the juvenile courts recent national recognition as a model court. There`s only two candidates running, both democrats, for division three circuit judge. The August 8th primary will be it. Robb`s opponent, Daniel Radke is a central high school graduate, private attorney and father of four kids.
