Request Granted......For Pregnant North Platte High Senior

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
A pregnant Midland Empire teen may get to walk with her classmates at graduation after all. Katie Bennett is due in September and planned to finish her senior year before the birth of her baby. The North Platte school board originally told Bennett school policy would not allow her to graduate early then walk at the ceremony. Board members have since voted unanimously to change that policy...and Bennett will get her wish. The policy change goes into effect next spring.
