Police say speed is to blame for two separate accidents that land four St. Joseph teenagers in the hospital.
St. Joseph Police say an SUV overturned after driving too fast on Pickett Road near South 36th Street.
Police say the 16-year-old driver of the vehicle is in serious condition tonight at Heartland Regional Medical Center after being ejected from his SUV.
His 16-year-old passenger suffered only minor cuts and refused medical treatment.
The accident is under investigation; citations are pending.
A two car crash causes traffic to slow to a crawl around one o`clock this afternoon near Country Lane Road and North Belt Highway.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, an SUV failed to yield to a green light in the left hand turn lane and hit this car.
The 16-year-old driver recieved a failure to yield citation.
One passenger were taken to Heartland by a private vehicle. Two others were taken by ambulance. All three were treated and released.
