New Local Disaster Committee

Emergency responders who deal with all kinds of local disasters plan to form a new committee just to deal with a pandemic influenza. The Buchanan County Emergency Planning Committee that meets once a month wants volunteers from Emergency Management, the Red Cross, Heartland Hospital, law enforcement, the public school system and university, mental health and industry as well politicians. E-mails have gone out to groups to solicit. The committee hopes to hold it`s first meeting the 3rd or 4th week in June.
